Good news for men suffering from : sildenafil is now more widely available on the NHS in England (including men with erectile dysfunction), although health managers weren’t told about the price before the recent change.
The drug is similar to sildenafil in terms of side effects and may lead to side effects if used alongside other erectile dysfunction drugs. Sildenafil’s average price was around £6.16 a tablet — nearly a nine-month supply — while tadalafil’s average price was £4.75 a tablet — $1.16 a tablet. In the last three years claims that 94% of all men over the age of 40 have experienced headaches, back pain, muscle aches, and muscle weakness. This compares with 30% of men under the age of 40 and 15% of men over the age of 75.
The drug was first approved for men with prostate enlargement in 1998 and for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia in 2003. It is still available on the NHS today; urologists suggest that ‘one tablet a day’ may be the difference between a normal erection and a men’s erection problems.
At the same time as Pfizer introduced the anti-impotence drug Viagra to market in 1998 and in 2013 it was shown to help men who suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED).
